Can your sterling silver keyrings be engraved?
Yes. Most of our sterling silver keyrings can be engraved with names, initials, dates or a personal message. Engraving options and character limits are shown on each individual product page.
Do you design your own keyrings?
Yes. Our keyrings are designed by Hersey & Son Silversmiths and carefully finished in our workshop before being presented in a Hersey & Son gift box.
Are your keyrings hallmarked?
Yes. Every sterling silver keyring that exceeds the legal hallmarking weight is independently tested and hallmarked in accordance with UK hallmarking regulations. Lighter pieces are legally exempt but are still made from 925 sterling silver.
Why do you offer a choice of split rings?
Our keyrings are available with either a sterling silver or stainless steel split ring. Stainless steel is exceptionally strong and resistant to wear, making it an excellent choice for everyday use. It also helps keep the overall cost of the keyring lower. For those who prefer a traditional all-silver finish, a sterling silver split ring is also available.
What occasions are sterling silver keyrings suitable for?
Sterling silver keyrings make thoughtful gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, graduations, Father's Day and other special occasions. Personal engraving makes them even more meaningful.
How should I care for a sterling silver keyring?
Sterling silver is suitable for everyday use. To maintain its shine, polish the silver occasionally with a soft silver polishing cloth. Over time, small marks from everyday use will naturally develop and add character to the piece.
What's the difference between a keyring and a key fob?
The terms are often used interchangeably. Traditionally, a keyring refers to the complete item used to hold keys, while a key fob is the decorative or engraved part attached to the ring.
