Is the wine coaster hallmarked?

Yes. Every wine coaster is independently tested and fully hallmarked at the London Assay Office, guaranteeing the purity of the sterling silver.

Is a silver wine coaster a good gift?

What size wine bottle will it fit?

Our 3½" wine coaster is designed to fit a standard wine bottle snugly. The 4" version provides a little more clearance, while the traditional 5" coaster offers the generous proportions that have been associated with fine silver wine coasters since the 18th century.

How should I lay out my engraving?

The shape of the item affects how an engraving looks. On round objects such as wine coasters, we recommend placing the longest line of text in the centre if using three lines. On smaller engravings, keeping the wording short often gives the best result. If you're unsure, our experienced engravers will arrange the layout to achieve the most attractive finish.

Can the wine coaster be engraved?

Yes. The central boss can be engraved with up to 10 characters over two lines, making it ideal for initials, monograms or a special date. Alternatively, the side of the coaster can be engraved with up to 200 characters opposite the hallmark, allowing space for a longer personal message.
