What is a T-bar necklace?

A T-bar necklace is inspired by the traditional Albert watch chain, where a T-shaped bar was threaded through a buttonhole in a gentleman's waistcoat to secure a pocket watch. The decorative fob attached to the chain would hang below the waistcoat, while the watch was kept safely in the pocket. Today, the T-bar has been reimagined as a distinctive necklace design, combining vintage inspiration with a clean, contemporary style.

What is the difference between a T-bar necklace and an Albert chain?

An Albert chain is a traditional watch chain designed to carry a pocket watch. A T-bar necklace takes inspiration from this classic design but is made to be worn as jewellery. Some styles, including our sterling silver fob necklace, feature a decorative fob attached to the chain, echoing the look of an original Albert chain while offering a contemporary necklace that can be worn every day.

Yes. Our T-bar necklaces are crafted from solid 925 sterling silver and supplied on sterling silver chains. Where required by UK hallmarking regulations they are fully hallmarked at the London Assay Office, while smaller pendants are stamped 925.
